AITD L&D Pro of The Year!
I’m really excited to let you all know that I won the AITD Dr Alastair Rylatt Award for L&D Professional of the Year 2016.
2016 has been a great year professionally. Jessica Buriani, my client at Samsung Mobile, picked up Learning Manager of the Year off the back of the Samsung Plus project that I’ve been running. Now I’ve managed to pick up an award for myself.
I’m feeling rather overwhelmed by it all, and ever so slightly proud. It’s great to be recognised in such a massive was and rather humbling to see some of the people who have won this before.
The award comes with a rather attractive iceberg to sit on the shelf at home. Here’s Jane Calleja presenting it to me at awards night in Sydney. I was a bit gobsmacked – something unusual for me. As soon as I got on stage I realised that I had no idea how to hold this lump of glass and was lucky not to drop it.
While I’m sure that I wouldn’t have won the award without doing some decent work, I feel that it was mainly recognition for the Instructional Design and eLearning MeetUp Group that I run and all the enthusiastic people who’ve helped make it a great success.
To make the night even better, the Samsung Plus project won 2nd place in the Best Use of Technology award too.
That’s Jess and I doing the dodgy jazz hands to celebrate.
So, L&D Professional of the year, runner up in best technology for learning, plus a slew of LearnX awards, a Brandon-Hall, a client recognised for the project I ran for them and more success at Learning Plan.
What could possibly happen in 2017???
